Recently, I led my colleagues in Congress seeking money for a critical cause: fighting cancer among firefighters. I wanted to highlight this important issue.

Our firefighters are always there, always standing on the frontlines.  

During the pandemic, they kept our communities safe even as 180 firefighters fell to the virus. And when Hurricane Ida unleashed catastrophic flooding in our communities, our fire heroes donned scuba gear and rescued hundreds of our neighbors.

Every day, a senior each of us knows needs to get to the doctor, the pharmacist, or the supermarket. As we age, what was a simple trip down the block can be difficult and highly stressful.
