Delivering $1 Million for Cliffside Park

This is Congresswoman Nellie Pou. I was proud to visit Cliffside Park this morning to announce $1,092,000 in federal funding to strengthen the town’s water infrastructure.

Working with Mayor Thomas Calabrese, the Borough Council, and local officials, my office secured these funds to help replace broken sanitary pipes and improve the borough’s stormwater system. 

The project will modernize key infrastructure, reduce stress on the sewer system, and help prevent failures that can lead to flooding, environmental damage, or public health risks.

Infrastructure like this often operates quietly beneath our feet. Residents may not see it every day, but when systems fail, the consequences are felt across an entire community. 

That’s why these investments matter so much. They protect our waterways, safeguard property, and ensure reliable services for families and local businesses.

Projects like this also show how government should work. Local leaders understand the needs of their communities, and the federal government can help provide the resources to get critical work done. By partnering together, we can deliver real improvements that strengthen our neighborhoods and improve daily life.

I want to thank Mayor Calabrese and Cliffside Park’s leaders for working closely with my office to bring this project forward. Their advocacy for the borough helped make this investment possible.

I’m proud we were able to deliver this funding in my first term in Congress, and I will continue working to ensure Cliffside Park receives the federal support it deserves.

Le escribe la congresista Nellie Pou. Esta mañana tuve el honor de visitar Cliffside Park para anunciar $1,092,000 en fondos federales destinados a fortalecer la infraestructura de agua del municipio.

Trabajando junto al alcalde Thomas Calabrese, el Concejo Municipal y funcionarios locales, mi oficina aseguró estos fondos para ayudar a reemplazar tuberías sanitarias dañadas y mejorar el sistema de aguas pluviales del municipio.

Este proyecto modernizará infraestructura clave, reducirá la presión sobre el sistema de alcantarillado y ayudará a prevenir fallas que pueden causar inundaciones, daños ambientales o riesgos para la salud pública.

Infraestructura como esta a menudo funciona de manera silenciosa bajo nuestros pies. Los residentes quizá no la vean todos los días, pero cuando estos sistemas fallan, las consecuencias se sienten en toda la comunidad.

Por eso estas inversiones son tan importantes. Protegen nuestras vías fluviales, resguardan propiedades y garantizan servicios confiables para las familias y los negocios locales.

Proyectos como este también muestran cómo debe funcionar el gobierno. Los líderes locales entienden las necesidades de sus comunidades, y el gobierno federal puede ayudar a proporcionar los recursos para realizar trabajos esenciales. Al trabajar juntos, podemos lograr mejoras reales que fortalezcan nuestros vecindarios y mejoren la vida diaria.

Quiero agradecer al alcalde Calabrese y a los líderes de Cliffside Park por trabajar de cerca con mi oficina para sacar adelante este proyecto. Su defensa del municipio ayudó a hacer posible esta inversión.
