Military Academy Nominations

Nomination Process
Attending a U.S. military service academy is a profound honor, offering a world-class, tuition-free education and unparalleled leadership development. As such, the application process is highly competitive, demanding strong academic performance, impressive physical and mental fitness, and a deep commitment to serving your country. Upon graduation, you will be required to fulfill a minimum of five years of active duty.
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointments to four of the five service academies:
U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY
U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD
U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO
U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY
Please be aware the fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
Congresswoman Nellie Pou may nominate up to fifteen individuals for each vacant slot allotted to our district for USAFA, USNA, & USMA. The USMMA allows Members to nominate only ten individuals per vacant slot.
