PATERSON, NJ – Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09) this afternoon celebrated an announcement by the Trump administration that it would finally release disaster funds it had been illegally holding hostage for months. 

At a hearing in May, Pou demanded that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem provide guidance on when grant funding would be released. Just days ago, Pou followed up and wrote to Secretary Noem imploring the Trump government to release federal disaster funding.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ – Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09) joined a roundtable with Jewish leaders from across the district and North Jersey to discuss rising antisemitism, federal efforts to protect Jewish communities from threats, the Middle East, and other issues.

Pou was joined by Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Zur and Pou’s colleague, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL-25), a senior House Democrat and the second longest-serving Jewish woman currently in the chamber.

Following their tour, the congresswomen met with local veterans’ community leaders.
