WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09), the Vice Ranking Member of the House Aviation Subcommittee, today assailed the Trump administration’s purges at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and warned of Elon Musk’s planned takeover of flight safety in America.

“Degrading the FAA is a clear and present danger to all Americans,” said Congresswoman Pou. “Just weeks ago, America suffered its first major commercial plane crash in 16 years. In response, the Trump-Musk team has fired hundreds of FAA staff and plans to put goofy billionaire Elon Musk in charge of plane safety in America. Trump and Musk’s actions will cause more accidents and harm more Americans and these arbitrary firings should be reversed today. With their callous purge at the FAA, Donald Trump and Elon Musk are making American air travel dangerous again.”
